    MONROE, UTAH- Rulon R Brown of Monroe and Koosharem passed away on December 12, 2002 at the Richfield Care Center at the age of 94. Rulon was born on August 20, 1908 in Koosharem to William Baxter and Amelia Christina Olsen Brown. He attended high school in Monroe and resided in Monroe for the past 60 years. He married Revoe Allen on December 24, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had five children: Lowell (Kathleen) Brown, Gary (Mary) Brown, Del (Cathy) Brown, Don (Daphne) Brown, and Gae Lynn (James) Froyd. Revoe passed away on February 23, 1984. Rulon married Kay Larsen Hallows on November 22, 1985 in the Jordan River Temple. The family expresses their love and appreciation for the years of companionship and care giving that Kay has given to Rulon. Rulon was employed in the dairy industry for 43 years beginning in Neola, where he made cheese and won several state awards for the quality of his cheese. He moved to Monroe in 1942 where he was employed by Pet Milk Company. At the time of his retirement he was a field man and assistant manager. Rulon was a self-sufficient person, raising livestock and a large garden, sharing the harvest with many in the community. He was a lifetime member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions, including High Councilor, Bishop's Counselor, and Stake Sunday School President. He was a worker in the Provo and Manti Temples for many years. He loved Koosharem and still maintained property there. He was awarded the Century Farm status for maintaining the property in the same family for more than 100 years. Rulon is survived by his wife, Kay, five children, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mildred Farnsworth and Eva Watkins. He is preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2002 in the Monroe LDS Stake Center, 140 South Main. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary on Sunday evening at the stake center in Monroe. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
